Elyse got to celebrate Christmas twice- once in TX and once in CO. In TX we opened presents on the 22nd and then set out for CO in the afternoon. Elyse did well on the plane (yippee!) and we arrived in Littleton and then set out for Steamboat Springs the following day with Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt. In Steamboat we were met by Uncle Eric, Aunt Kristen, cousin Catherine and Aunt Kristen's family. This was the first time Elyse and Catherine met. Later Great Uncle Don and Great Aunt Pat also made the trip to Steamboat. Steamboat was the perfect backdrop for the a CO white Christmas.
On the first night we went on a one horse open sleigh as the snow fell. On Christmas Eve Toby went Snowboarding and Jenn went Snowshoeing, both enjoying the snow while Elyse spent time with Grandma. The evening ended with a trip to a local church to remember why we were celebrating. On Christmas day we woke up to snow falling outside. Both babies did very well as everyone opened presents. Elyse even helped Toby open a few. We had a great time.
On the 26th we headed back to Littleton to spend the remainder of our time at Grandma and Grandpa's house. There we played with trains, visited friends and got to see Uncle Noah, Uncle Ethan (who just got back from Jakarta), Aunt Lisel and Aunt Claire (who both just got back from Africa).
