I don't know why, but Elyse's 7 Months update had Feb 28th as the post date and I wanted it to have Feb 29. So, I am writing another post so it can have that February 29th date. As a bonus, I have added some other pictures of Elyse. (These pictures are still frames of a movie I took. Every time you see her hands in her mouth she is making razzberries.)

7 Months
Our Super Girl
On this great day of leaping Elyse has turned 7 months old. That sounds so old! She has done a lot in the last month. For one thing she has basically mastered sitting up on her own. You can plop her down anywhere and she will sit there. Elyse has also started taking baths sitting up. She likes to splash in the water. This month she has also slept through the night a few times and has gone to sleep without crying for a few nights as well. This is great for Mom and Dad's sanity. At the end of the month Grandma and Grandpa Schmidt came out to visit. It was wonderful. We went to the park, visited the "grandma store" in Old Town Spring, and Elyse learned about some family recipes. The time went by way too quickly.Elyse Feeding Herself for the First Time

Silent Observer
I love to watch Elyse.
Now that she can sit up, she is more content to be left alone and play. I think to myself that I can read or get something done during this time, but I always find myself watching my daughter.
She is fasinating.
It is so fun to watch her explore her world and learn new things. It's great to see her reach for a toy just out of reach and then wiggle to get it or look at a new toy studying how it works. As I sit and type right now she is sticking a toy in her mouth and blowing razzberries at the same time-it's so entertaining! Earlier she was trying to figure out the carpet. Since she spits up so much I usually have her on a blanket, but she decided to pull back the blanket and found what was underneath-the carpet! She was just starting at it for awhile, then set touched it and grabbed it, finially she dove in face first and tasted it.

Futbol
Another big first has occured in Elyse's life: she set foot on a soccer field for the first time the other day. As she sat there, trying to eat the grass, I could just tell that she was picturing herself scoring a goal.
(I have a picture but it's stuck on my phone)
