Haast to Wanaka to Queenstown

After a not so great night, we woke up to more rain which was actually great waterfall viewing weather. (more rain=more water flow= more spectacular waterfalls). Our drive from Haast to Queenstown was spectacular. The mountains were covered in waterfalls and then there were short little hikes to see some waterfalls closer up.

At one stop (either Fantail or Thunder Creek Falls) Anastasia was asleep so Toby and Elyse walked the 5 minutes to the waterfall.  So pretty...

We also stopped at one point to see the Haast River and some other waterfalls on the mountain. I was a little nervous Elyse would fall down into the water so I asked Toby to keep a good grip on her:
After we crossed over to the eastern side of the mountains, the rain began to let up and we were able to enjoy some great weather when we stopped in Wanaka for lunch.

Toby did all of the driving. I am thankful he was willing to do this:)

Of course we visited the playground. Look at this cool slide!

The playground was right on the lake so we walked around, fed some ducks, and of course threw some rocks into the water.
From Wanaka we took the scenic (shorter) route on Gorge Range Road (?). As we went over the pass we saw this:

Apparently Anastasia was not impressed.

We saw sheep everywhere. Here I actually took a picture of them:

When we got to Queenstown we got to our hotel (Copthorne Hotel and Apartments) and were treated to these views from our balcony:

After checking out our place, we bundled up and walked to the city center for some great views, good food and...
...a stop at the playground:
