There are going to be many lasts on our way back to Texas, and I'll get to those in another post, but today was an important last for Elyse. It was her last day of school here in Singapore. She has really enjoyed going to school at JCCK and she has had some great teachers. Her K1 teacher, Mrs. Tham gave her a gift yesterday that included a DVD of pictures of Elyse at school set to music. It was so thoughtful of her.
Today as we went to get Elyse off the bus Anastasia sat in her normal spot on the way to the pick up point. A seat just her size:
On the bus Elyse said good bye to all her friends. She was laughing and happy as I approached the bus.
I was able to get a picture of some of the kids from her school. Elyse is standing in between two of her best friends from school Latika and Veronica. The woman is the Bus Auntie. Her name is Yan and has been very kind to Elyse.
I asked Elyse what special thing she wanted to do to celebrate the last day of school and she said "Ice Cream by the MRT" so that's what we did. I thought this was very fitting for a last day of school in Singapore: We were at the MRT eating soya ice cream from Mr. Bean.
They were pretending they were in jail.
I got an ice cream for Anastasia and I to share, but she only wanted to eat from Elyse's cone. Good thing Elyse was willing to share- what a sweet girl.
Happy Last Day of School Elyse!
