Ta Nei, Ta Keo, AHA

So after the temple with the trees, Ta Prohm, we headed to Ta Nei temple. It was very quiet and there were only 3 other people there.
Snack time at the temple:

Our next temple was Ta Keo. This was one of my favorite temples. Probably because we climbed all the way to the top and had a sense of accomplishment and some great views.
Stairs (Elyse was so excited to climb- she lead the way)

More stairs. Our guide said that the stairs were narrow so your toes didn't point toward the god-you had to walk sideways having your toes point to the side. Also he said it's hard to get to heaven- hence how steep the steeps are.
Looking down. Our guide is the tiny person on the left.

Toby climbing with the added weight of Anastasia. I think Anastasia had the best deal.
We made it to the top. We were SOOO hot and sweaty though. You can see the sweat dripping down E's face.
Once we recuperated and enjoyed the view, we headed back down to the second level. I was a bit nervous going down such steep steps, but we made it.
Second level tower
and back down to the ground.

After Ta Keo we headed back to the hotel for some rest and some swimming.  In the evening we took a recommendation from our guide and went out to eat at a place called AHA.

Here Elyse is "ice skating" on the wood floors. They were so slippery you could glide across them.

Views from the front of our hotel as we waited for our driver.

At AHA, they had lights made from zip ties.
Waiting for our food.
This pictured summed up Anastasia's attitude at dinner.
It was a long, hot day, but it was great. On to day 2!
